Mega Man 9 takes the series back to its roots and focuses on classic platformer action, boss battles and collecting weapons. Adding to the retro feel of the game, there will also be 8-bit ‘NES-style graphics and sound.’ Capcom have stated that there will be over a dozen levels, 50 new enemies and bosses to fight, and even online leader boards to track your high scores.
The game is set after the events of Mega Man 8. Riots have sprung across the world causing many to suspect Dr. Wily is behind another sinister plot. However, Dr. Wily appears on TV and proclaims that it is Dr. Light who is the evil mastermind. Mega Man must now set out and clear his creator’s name.
