EA announce 'All-Play' line up for Wii

Wii News | Fresh EA sports titles aiming to 'level the playing field'.
It seems that EA Sports is renovating. Today, they've announced a whole new line of sports titles for the Nintendo Wii under the 'All-Play' brand. This new brand signifies an attempt to create a line of games that Grandma can play alongside the hardcore gamer - games that, according to EA, are "inviting to players of all skill levels."

Four of these All-Play titles will ship in 2008. The first, Madden NFL 09 All-Play, will feature a new 'Call Your Shots' mode, which allows the player greater control over plays and receivers on the fly. It'll also have a new, more compact 5-versus-5 mode with 'big head' NFL players. We think they mean those comically-enlarged bobble-head style 'big heads', rather than any implications of arrogance.

The second All-Play title for 2008 will be Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play. This latest Tiger Woods installment boasts a whole host of new features. You'll be coached by Wood's personal coach, Hank Haney, and delve deep into the dark confines of online play, including the ability to play the same hole simultaneously with four players. It's also worth noting that EA claims PGA Tour 09 All-Play possesses "the most 'true to life' golf mechanic you can find in any videogame."

The third title NBA Live 09 All-Play, has so far the least information available, though EA are willing to devulge that it'll be an "over-the-top basketball experience designed with everyone in mind". The fourth title, FIFA Soccer 09 All-Play seems the most logical here, and is seemingly evolved from EA's FIFA 08 for the Wii. It'll have two major modes the classic 11 vs. 11 football simulation, or an "over-the-top" 8 vs. 8 arcade mode. Integration looks to be key here you'll play with your Mii alongside FIFA regulars such as Ronaldinho and Rooney, while sub-games Footii Party Games, Table Soccer and Boot It return from FIFA 08.

It looks like this new All-Play brand is here to stay - for the Wii, at least. Peter Moore, President of EA Sports says "The Wii platform and the Wii consumer are looking for a very unique sports experience. Whether you’re an EA Sports veteran or a rookie gamer, EA Sports All-Play levels the playing field and delivers a fresh new gaming experience." The website for the new line-up can be found here.
