Well, Nintendo have chosen this pre-E3 lull to let us know about a few titles shipping before the end of the year. They've unveiled four titles - two for Wii, and two for DS. The first - Mario Super Sluggers - we've known about for some time, so that's not so surprising. The second Wii title, however, is more of a revelation. Wario Land: Shake It! will see the popular Nintendo antagonist make his way to his first Wii adventure (after 2007's micro-game collection, WarioWare: Smooth Moves). The game marks a return to Nintendo's roots, merged with the modern motion controlling of the Wii: it's a 2D, traditional, side-scrolling platformer, but instead of the button set up of yesteryear, players will shake and move the Wii Remote in order to control Wario.
The Nintendo DS will also soon be home to two new games. First, it's Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir, a puzzle title in the long-running series of seek-and-solve games. In the DS installment, players will use the stylus controls and the built-in microphone to solve the mystery, while the game will also feature the series' first ever multiplayer mode. Additionally, the DS will receive a 're-imagining' of the fan favourite Kirby Super Star, titled Kirby Super Star Ultra. The game will feature improved graphics and functionality, plus, of course, touch-screen controlled mini games.
In the United States, Wario Land: Shake It! will be released on 29 September, Mario Super Sluggers August 25, Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir September 8, and Kirby Super Star Ultra September 29. There aren't any concrete Australian dates yet, however, it's worth noting that Wario, at least, will hit Europe on 26 September, which is a decent indicator of an Australian release.
