Smash Bros Brawl gets an official Australian release date

Wii News | Get out your diaries.
Super Smash Bros Brawl may have been released in the US a little over two months ago, but Australians have been patiently (and perhaps, on occasion, not-so-patiently) waiting for a release date for some time now.

Never fear - Nintendo Australia have finally divulged an official release date: June 26. This comes as one day before Europe, and as rumoured earlier this month.

Super Smash Bros: Brawl is the third installment of the series, the first of which made its debut on the Nintendo 64. The game currently sits at an enviable 94 aggregate rating at Metacritic, one of the Wii's highest.

The really funny thing will be is we will get nothing new for the long wait ^^. Thats my bet anyway.
you'll get german, french italian and spanish languages yay!

it would be SO good to get a couple of new characters and make all the americans really jealous.

no way it'll happen though.
I remember back in the day for Final Fantasy X we got something extra because of the long long wait. One can only hope.
oh yeah - we got a making of dvd. that was cool

they should include that with all big game releases.

You just got to BELIEVE!!! I am hoping for an Advance Wars playable character, preferably an Andy whom pimp-slaps with his wrench, or a Sturm that uses clones to fight for him.

But one can only hope...

I bet you a sizeable sum of money there will be no bonus characters in the AU brawl. It would make no sense for Nintendo to do so, as they won't be making any more money, they'd just be pissing off all the non-PAL regions.

Also, don't double post Azza, just edit your original post. It's not that hard...

This is incredibly awesome and irritating at the same time.

Awesome, cus its Brawl, and I want it, and its coming out soon-ish, while irritating because the release date is precisely 2 days after my birthday. No Brawl for me anytime soon, so it would seem. icon_sad.gif

It would be awesome of Nintendo to do something for us poor neglected PAL regions for a change, bonus characters, DVDs, anything.

I can only assume you're saying Duke Nukem is confirmed as a playable character in Brawl - PAL region?

I'd hit that.

EDIT: lol.. I was joking Smurf80. Still, I'd love to beat the crap out of Duke with Kirby or Samus. icon_wink.gif

hahaha or the fact that its taken so long to come out here Just like DNF is....although that game is in a totally different league of delays compared to PAL Brawl.

My housemate got the US import and a Freeloader months ago, so I'm already well and truly over Brawl.

...the rest of you have fun though. icon_wink.gif

I have the american version. Yes I really over-hyped for this game, I expected less than I thought I would get. Not so great, but better than Melee. Story mode is horrible and bland.
Yes but thats right bloody Nintendo taking their sweet time.

A question to the peepz that own this and were regular players of any of the others:

What control method do you think works best and which one do you prefer?

I'm hoping it's not the classic controller...that thing feels a little too thin and light in my hands. I am actually hoping it's the wiimote & nunchuck combo, cuz the GCN controller as awesome as it is....the d-pad is too little.

Looks like there will be a few extra characters on the PAL version and 6 way brawl:*

* Completely untrue.
