Smash Bros Brawl gets an official Australian release date

Wii News | Get out your diaries.
Super Smash Bros Brawl may have been released in the US a little over two months ago, but Australians have been patiently (and perhaps, on occasion, not-so-patiently) waiting for a release date for some time now.

Never fear - Nintendo Australia have finally divulged an official release date: June 26. This comes as one day before Europe, and as rumoured earlier this month.

Super Smash Bros: Brawl is the third installment of the series, the first of which made its debut on the Nintendo 64. The game currently sits at an enviable 94 aggregate rating at Metacritic, one of the Wii's highest.

Any news on changes for the PAL verison apart from stuffing the game full of crappy 50 Hz VC demos?

I would be somewhat excited and stuff but I've already played it with freeloader and in GameTraders Marion. Kinda kills the (small amount of) anticipation I had.

But of course, getting it anyway.

Finally. But, having played the game I still have to agree with Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation. The game was just 'meh.'

Um...About time?

Well at least we're one day ahead of europe....

But anyway I dont really want it anymore as the hype for it has been dead for ages.

"Sir, the Brawl sales for Australia are significantly lower than anticipated, what should we do?"
"Ehhh, next game we'll just throw more Pokemon in."

I've never played any of the Brawl titles so im not sure what im in for..

Release dates are one thing, but let's hope the delay actually helps in getting a copy of the game which is slightly better than the NTSC versions.

Fixed. icon_razz.gif I highly doubt a boycott is the answer.

Itachi: I just think it would make things worse. After all, if the sales are low, why bother?

Well TBH thats the only thing they will notice. What else could people do apart from complain which obviously they don't listen.

EDIT: Also by buying the game your showing Nintendo you accept there treatment ^^.

EDIT ADS: It can be taken both ways if you don't buy it they won't release early. If you do buy it than they think ohh they accept our treatment. ^^

Fixed for me. My gf owns one but half the time it is at her brother's house and I would really like one of my own, but I'll just keep waiting until I can walk into the shops and buy one.

Makes no difference to the situation. Except wait even longer.

Well it's about fucking time.

I heard that Nintendo was waiting for the game to be completely translated into Finnish so then Australians could understand the game perfectly fine.

Nintendo, you fail at business. Third parties with 1/10th of the Profits that you make are more timely with their releases in PAL Land, and *gasp* they aren't even generic European Imports of games!

EDIT: Eyce! Beat me to the punch line by a minute!

True that. Now you can play the game in Danish!

The really funny thing will be is we will get nothing new for the long wait ^^. Thats my bet anyway.

Ill probably have mine up for exchange or sale on here before the release date. I like it but I think getting it the same week as mario kart sorta ruined it a bit for me. Im halfway through the subspace emissary but im kind of forcing myself to play it where as im not with mario kart. Dont get me wrong its still fun to play but I honestly think mario kart is a better game.

you'll get german, french italian and spanish languages yay!

it would be SO good to get a couple of new characters and make all the americans really jealous.

no way it'll happen though.

I remember back in the day for Final Fantasy X we got something extra because of the long long wait. One can only hope.

After doing some research on the European Copies Nintendo Australia import in, I found their Private Transport Ship they use between Australia/Europe and China, where the copies are made:

I'm not really pumped for this game any more. If it had launched here around the time of the US/Japan I would have gotten it day 1 no doubt, I'm a sucker for hype. Perhaps now that I've already had to wait so long, I don't really care when I get the game. Or perhaps it's because I'm playing GTA IV atm that I don't really want/have time for Brawl.

I waited half a year for it, so it can wait for me.

Hey, I saw it there too! I was laughing my ass off at the fact that they couldn't be stuffed waiting.

Three words: ABOUT F**KING TIME!!!!1!!!!1!
