Club Nintendo coming to Australia

Wii News | Mario Kart to come with Club Nintendo code.
PALGN received our copy of Mario Kart Wii today for review and after we'd finished jumping around the room rather enthusiastically we actually opened the title up. Aside from the usual documentation (such as the instruction book and health and safety precautions book) is a "personal invitation" to join Club Nintendo.

Club Nintendo is a service currently running in the UK, with every purchase of a game purchasers receive points, which can then be cashed in for Wii Points or other bonus incentives. The Club Nintendo invitation is definitely for Australia and New Zealand, as the invitation specifies the code provided with the invitation is valid only in Australia and New Zealand.

We expect Nintendo to shed some light on this invitation shortly, but for now we're off to Mario Kart Wii. Look out for our review of the title next week.

*wets self* OMG NINTENDO CLUUUUUUUUUUB OMG.

This has just made mario kart a must buy for me well that and its F'n mario kart.

Also nintendo club will prob make me buy more non VC wii games to get VC points wooooo....or maybe not.

Still I doubt the aus one will be as good as club nintendo japan.

Wow a nice surprise icon_smile.gif Probably won't ever get enough points to garner anything decent, but it won't stop me trying icon_smile.gif

I'm not really familiar with the details of Club Nintendo.

How many points do you get with each game?
And how many points do you need to buy something like a Wii Points card?

You better be retroactively paying me for putting up with your ****, Nintendo. And on that note, the Aus version of Brawl better have eleventy billion points.

OMG, SWEET, Hopefully it will be as successful as japan's

Well seeing that Europes club nintendo is pretty crap so I guess our one will be even worse unfortuantely but at least we finally have something.

When you buy Nintendo products they come with a code, you enter the code on the club Nintendo website and they turn into points.

I got a code for the Japan CN when I bought a Japanese Game Boy Micro.

Its a totally awesome club that gives you points for buying nintendo products (Like a loyalty program), and gives you a chance to redeem for exclusive items that i have spent my well earnt moneys over on items such as:

And in future i wish to get one of these (again only exclusive to Club Nintendo members):

^ definently. Though in the end if this becomes a problem They will probs just take all point codes out of wii games etc. or just get to the point were they take an email adress or phone number and send you the code after 7 days?

Expect scratchy cards and 7 Day return Policy considered nulled if you scratch the card icon_wink.gif

Hrm, not a bad idea, this would make them enforce stricter rules on game developers to meet a standard for gamer points, or they are not eligible to have the privileges of the people that buy the game getting points for gamer points they earn, so instead of games like Avatar and King Kong only selling to people after the easy points, it might reverse things and instead of easy points gaining sales, it would loose them sales. I would really love this to happen now that you have mentioned it.

the article doesn't say anything about anything protecting the code, so it may look like the first batch of points won't be protected, but maybe nintendo will a form of dispute resolution type thing, where the dishonest people will get all their points taken from them or something

nintendos way to stop imports and not and not have to up release dates but great news regardless.
