Star Wars: The Force Unleashed coming this September

Wii News | If only Nintendo could follow such a well-planned release.
LucasArts have announced today, via a press release, that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be released worldwide this September. Americans will be able to purchase the game from September 16th, while South East Asia and Australia can look forward to a September 17th release. As for our European brothers, they’ll be getting the game slightly later on September 19th.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is set between the Star Wars films Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and will see players assume the role of Darth Vader’s ‘Secret Apprentice.’ While not much else is known about the story, players will assist Vader in his quest to destroy all the remaining Jedi in the galaxy, and face decisions that will effect their destiny.

LucasArts are handling development of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, while Krome Studios is hard at work on the Wii, PlayStation 2 and PSP versions. Additionally, n-Space is working on a Nintendo DS version.

About 3 gallons of saliva just burst out of my mouth. I'm beyond drooling over this.

The wait until September will likely kill me, but fortunately the game being released is such a good thing that it will probably bring about the Resurrection and I'll be ok. icon_biggrin.gif

I think I am the only one that is not too enthused about this game.
I love the star wars universe etc but from what i have seen of the game it looks like just another hack n slash ooh physics game.
I hope it fares better once i see what the actual game involves, not just going from room to room force pushing and laser deflecting and destroying stuff.

Also that physics system where people grab onto stuff needs more work, i'm not a fan of how a force pushed/pulled enemy can grab onto an obviously super heavy box and carry it along no sweat while they are whizzed around the area. They need to tweak the physics to have a give ratio, especially on the grab force of things. That'd make it a hell of a lot more realistic.

All in all I'll prolly grab it on release as a birthday treat to myself. ^.^

As much as i love the concept of beign a sith apprentice and using all the badass powers that comes with it; the little gameplay footage i have seen is a little dodgy.

Althoguh a long way off, if this game can be a really polished final product, it will move off the shelf and into my PS3 within seconds.

I hope that the Wii version has decent saber control and that the game itself comes off the production line polished to perfection because as a concept, it just screams fun.

Im a sucker for Star Wars. It's one of my fave stories.
