Originally released in 2001, Kirby 64 was Kirby’s first 3D adventure, and saw the pink puffball gain the new ability to combine two separate copy abilities as opposed to one. In the game, the planet Ripple Star has fallen under attack by Dark Matter, who seeks the power of the Crystal. In an attempt to thwart Dark Matter’s plans, the Queen launches Ribbon, a young fairy, and the Crystal into outer space to find a safe location. Unimpressed by the move, Dark Matter gives chase and subsequently causes the crystal to shatter, scattering the pieces across the galaxy. Ribbon herself happens to land on the planet Pop Star, and teams up with Kirby to find the Crystal shards and put a stop to Dark Matter. Aside from the single-player mode, there are also three bonus mini-games which can be played with up to four players.
