New Wii Guitar Hero Bundle Announced

Wii News | Now with two guitars.
Activison has sent word over that a new Guitar Hero bundle for the Nintendo Wii will be hitting retailers soon, exclusive to Australia. The new Wii Guitar Hero pack will include two wireless guitars and a copy of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Countless Wii owners missed out on purchasing the game before Christmas due to its immense popularity. "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock remains an overwhelming success for Activision Australia, and as such many potential guitar heroes have been disappointed by the lack of available units," acknowledged Peter Skjellerup, Product Manager for Red Octane and Activision Australia. "The introduction of the Wii Double Pack bundle aims to make amends for the shortfall of stock by giving Wii gamers access to multiplayer fun without buying two copies of the game!"

Though Activison Australia didn't supply a suggested price for the Wii Guitar Hero Bundle, several retailers are currently listing it for $199.95.

Probably trying to flog off the last of the Mono copies without people realising.

^ Kotaku has 'confirmation' that the limited double-guitar pack is the stereo version of the game.

it's in this week's Kmart catalogue listed for $169.

i kinda wish there was a double guitar version for XBox, or rather, wish there was one when the game came out. i still need a second guitar.

Man, I am still waiting to be able to get wireless guitars separately, my brothers over use of ours has made it somewhat unreliable. The red doesn't always register as being pressed down. =/

Way to screw over early adopters Activision. Meanwhile the wait for the replacement discs continues..

I bought this double pack a couple weeks ago. Is the confirmation for real? I'd feel pretty special to have given in and bought a mono version with 2 guitars and then find out it was a stereo and be a winner! I can't really tell if its double mono or stereo? Is there a way to tell??

Go to the Audio Settings screen and there should be an option to select either a mono or stereo mix as specified in page 8 of the instruction manual. My mono version lacks this option and i'm assuming the new discs will have corrected this.

This bundle has been available in retail stores since late February, why would they announce the bundle now-ish?

I guess Activision want more money and someone forgot to advertise. Now that the Guitar Hero name looks like it has officially gone to the cash cow (Guitar Hero: Aerosmith anyone!?!?!), I will be extra pleased to see Rock Band absolutely destroy it upon it's triumphant release on Aussie shores! >:]

No one can beat Harmonix at their own game. No one!

.. and if Activision think that they can just throw money at something to make it sell, they have another thing coming. Harmonix are absolutely passionate about their rock, and it oozes out of their product. My advice to Activision? Squeeze what you can out of Guitar Hero while you can because it's end is nearly upon you.

Sorry for an old thread revival, but my wife wants to get Guitar Hero III for her Wii, and I was wondering if that 2 guitar bundle is still available anywhere.

I've seen it at most of the gaming retailers in the past month...JB were selling the double guitar pack for $149 in that same period, but im not sure if its still that price.
