Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Harvest Moon Magical Melody dated

Wii News | Out in April.
Nintendo has sent word today that they have dated both Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Harvest Moon Magical Melody for Australia.

Both titles will be released in April, with Harvest Moon Magical Melody set for release on April 3, while Radiant Dawn will be out on April 10.

Good news all around, but still no word from Ninendo Australia on possible release dates for titles such as Wii Fit, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. It's also safe to assume now that Brawl will not be out in April, making a fearful mid-year release date ever more real.

So taking a day off work on the 10th of April.

Fire Emblems only 5 months late, I'm sure there's a reasonable excuse for such a delay, must be those localisation gremlins again which brings multi million dollar companies to their knees.

Not that I acually own a Wii or anything, but hell even I'd have picked one up if this wasn't delayed to the ****.

More than a year late if you count the Japanese release last February.

Yeah, but i doubt they'd have English subs making me only understand fractions of what they pass for a storyline.

Japanese games get simultaneous localisations all the time though. I don't see why this should have been any different.

Not when it comes to this series they don't. Path of Radiance had an 8 month delay and the Australian release was even separated from the PAL release, Sacred Stones was 13 months over a GBA port, Fire Emblem aka Blazing Sword was 16 months delay with a GBA port and Sword of Seals hasn't even been released for the GBA maintaining Japanese exclusivity and hell, I can't even recall if the SNES games even saw the light of day outside of Japan.

They obviously don't see it as a product which can push sales since every Fire Emblem game to date has either remained Japanese exclusive or had over half a year delays.

WOO a date!! icon_biggrin.gif

Whilst most of these games were 07 for the US, and we dont have a Brawl date, nonetheless some solid titles to look forward to for Wii in early 08.

If translation is the problem, Nintendo need to hire more translators. They are the only company with these sever PAL delays. Serious, there is only one Spanish translator (Jesus! I alway point him out), one French etc. Im sure other companies have more then one or two translators.

Problem solved? Or hire one super fast translator, because Jesus is geting sloppy.

Then you'd have what happened with Suikoden 2 translators;

"You have 6 weeks to translate the entire game, hop to it"
But we haven't even looked at the game!
"Tough ****, times a wasting"

And you end up with retarded sloppy translations. Arguably the industry would work a lot smoother if the PAL regions didn't have to wait for the options to have it in Spanish, German, French, sandscript, hyroglyphs and instead worked on English release on time with NTSC and then delve into other languages since the frame work for localisation would already be there with the English and all that would be needed would be the other languages added.

Despite what's happened in the past, I'm still reckon that delays this long due to translations shouldn't happen. Lost Oddysey was released in 5 different languages, within 2 months globally.
