NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams winner announced

Wii News | Are we about to make your NiGHT?
PALGN recently ran a competition to give away a copy of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams on the Wii. We asked you to tell us which classic Sega franchise you would like to see revitalised and why?

Well, we had a bundle of very keen entries and some fantastic ideas, but there can be only one winner and that winner is Tom S of NSW with the following entry;

"I would like to see a Crazy Taxi 4, in high definition with an open city and some brand new Crazy Box challenges. Online multiplayer of some kind and brand new taxis and characters would be the icing on the cake."

PALGN would like to thank Sega Australia for the prize and look out for our review of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams shortly. For those wondering, about 50% of entries wanted Alex Kidd back - are you listening Sega?

What the cripes?! I missed this competition entirely! (this being one I'd actually get around to entering). Bollocks!

Congrats to Tom S - Crazy Taxi is absolute Win.

It was definitely one of my favourite competitions to judge, some BRILLIANT ideas (although several of the same..) but yeah. icon_smile.gif

Aww, I was hoping Space Harrier was a good idea.

Seriously, GET READY!

Congratulations, man! Crazy Taxi 4, I would buy that without a doubt! Definetly deserve the prize!

I spent quite a bit of time on my answer, and sent it in yesterday hoping i'd just scrape in (as i was quite certain the comp finished today, or yesterday i was sure of it), but no.

Oh and i wanted a sequel/revitalisation to/of Comix Zone, hope it happens some day...

But congratulations Tom S (a forum user?), well deserved prize

Oh and really, around 50% for Alex Kid? *shakes head*

I don't know if bringing Alex Kidd back is a good idea. I loved it to death, but it would ruin that original quality retro experience. Some things should be left alone and not revamped.

^ I agree with your sentiment that some things are best left alone. At first I was going to suggest Psycho Fox but decided that if it happened they would either do exactly the same (making it redundant) or change it (making me angry).

In the end I chose Comix Zone suggesting the sequel could feature a crossover storyline. If done right it could allow an interesting clash of tech/culture and a variety of art styles could be applied.

And yes congrats to the winner. Gaming technology has changed alot since the turn of the century, if SEGA applied themselves they could make an awesome new Crazy Taxi. They would have to start from scratch through 2 & 3 felt like expansion packs to me.

Congrats Tom!
although personally i didn't like the Crazy Taxi games, and would prefer it stay buried.

from memory i said Golden Axe - only to discover afterwards that a revitalisation game was already in the works. icon_doh.gif

Congrats Tom, a burnout paridise/Test drive Unlimited style Crazy Taxi would be pretty sweet
