Pop still on track for near Wii Ware launch

Wii News | Game will 'define the WiiWare platform'

Australian developer Nnooo has contacted PALGN today to inform us that the Wii Ware title Pop is still currently on track "and on schedule to be released within the WiiWare launch window".

The developer also took the opportunity to point out that Pop is in "no way related or affiliated with Pop! which is coming out as a Wii disc game in the near future". That's right, there is a title called Pop! coming out on the Wii which is not affiliated with the Wii Ware release.

Nnooo went on to state that they are "dismayed that another company has not fully researched the market before coming up with the name for their game", but as a "small self funded developer (they do) not at this stage want to start a long and costly legal battle (they) would rather keep (their) focus on the development of (the) game".

The developer went on to state "Rest assured that Nnooo are working hard on Pop to make it the best game it can be and one which helps define the WiiWare platform."

I will pop the bubbles in record time!

I just hope each WiiWare game is priced accordingly. Final Fantasy is 1500 Wii points, and that uses the maximum size. I would want these to be (depending on what they are) under 500. But knowing how The Big N rolls, minimum might just be 500.

March, at least in Japan. But some US devs have also mentioned a March window.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Little King and the Promised Land (catches breath), not the original. It's going to be launched with WiiWare. When the original will become avaliable for VC is a big "question mark".
