Worms: A Space Oddity loses online features

Wii News | We shed a tear.
When Worms: A Space Oddity was first announced, one of the key things that took our attention was the fact that the game would support the option of future downloadable content and would also feature online play.

Well, IGN has managed to get their hands on the game and come away a little disappointed. Neither feature has made it into the final retail version, which is a severe disappointment. We can understand the omission of downloadable content, but the omission of online play is a shame.

Worms: A Space Oddity is due out in a few months time, with a RRP of $79.95. There are far cheaper options for those who want to play Worms, perhaps the Xbox Live Arcade version will take your fancy?

Ridiculous. How does Worms of all games not have online play on a system ready for one? It's not like they spent weeks hammering out netcode that wouldn't cut the mustard.

Yeah this just talked itself out of a play test. I just want to be able to kamikaze my distant friends for jiggs sake. Maybe they'll re-release it after no one wants it.
