Smash Bros Brawl delayed in Japan and the US

Wii News | Still no PAL release date either...

Possibly the most anticipated Wii game ever, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed in both the Japanese and American markets. Previously due to hit Japan this week and the US in February, the game is now scheduled for release on January 31st in Japan and March 9th in the US. On the US version of the official Super Smash Bros. Brawl website, the game's director Masahiro Sakurai left this message:

"Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience."

As we previously reported, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was not included as part of Nintendo Europe's half year release schedule, which featured release dates for titles up to June 2008. Nintendo Europe clarified stating that only titles with confirmed release dates beyond Q1 were included, but with this NTSC delay, it seems more likely then ever PAL gamers will have to wait until the second half of the year to play the sequel to the highest selling GameCube game.

I don't see how this delay will change the PAL release date. It's only a 2 week delay.

well i was worried at first but now that i think about it Leon has a point so im not too concerned

i mean it was already going to be a long wait for us

I think it's because PAL has to be translated into 5 different languages that we don't need.

Anyway, I swear if this gets to Australia before the U.S like the NDS Lite, I'll be the happiest kid in the world.
