Engine Software announces Project Bang!

Wii News | To appear on WiiWare service soon after launch.
An article on DreamStation.cc carries news of a new title in development by Engine Software, titled Project Bang!. The article doesn't feature much specific information on the game, which is described as 'a casual game type with very addictive gameplay using the unique Wii Remote controller functionality' that will 'support a two-player battle mode'.

Project Bang!, which is only a working title, is Engine Software's first WiiWare game. According to Ruud van de Moosdyk, Engine Software's Vice President of Development, when the company acquired their official Wii license last year they 'already had several concepts written up that would be ideal for WiiWare, and Project Bang! is the first to actually go into production'. Screenshots and other media of the game are yet to be released.

Nintendo's WiiWare service brings original downloadable games to the Wii, which opens the door to independent game developers, much like Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 and Sony's Playstation Network for Playstation 3. The service is scheduled to be launched in March 2008, and will allow users to purchase Wii Points, which can be exchanged for games via the Wii Shop channel.
