LGC 07: Ninjatown slicing its way onto the DS

DS News | Based on the popular toy line.
SouthPeak Games has revealed today that they will be publishing Ninjatown for the Nintendo DS. Based on the popular toy line of the same name from Shawnimals, Ninjatown follows the story of a group of fun-loving Ninjas who live in a village known as ... wait for it ... Ninjatown. Talk about originality ...

One day however, the peaceful town falls into chaos when a nearby volcano erupts and sinistar creatures led by the evil Mr. Demon appear. Using their unique abilities, it's now up to the Ninjas to save their town and once again, restore peace.

Each Ninja in the game will apparently have their own special powers and abilities which players must take advantage of to gain the upper hand over Mr. Demon. Ninjatown will utilise the touch screen to "strategically" place Ninjas around a district and defend each area.

The game is currently expected to be released sometime in 2008. Some early concept art can be found in the Media Panel, below.

Sinister creatures led by an evil 'Mr. Demon'? Count me in icon_biggrin.gif
The character design and plot are just cutesy/wacky enough to drawn me in without being too saccharine. I wonder if the game will be any good, though?

Heres hoping.

I'm upset that there isn't a shotgun ninja... but the bright-orange Anti Ninja will do me just fine.
