Chessmaster coming to the Nintendo DS

Ubisoft has announced via a press release that they'll be publishing Chessmaster: The Art of Learning for the Nintendo DS and Chessmaster: Grandmaster Edition for the PC. Josh Waitzkin, International Master and eight-time National Chess Champion, will make an appearence in both games to help coach players on their tactics and strategic play.

The game includes not only the standard single player mode, but will also include a multiplayer mode for hardcore two-player chess action. The PC version will allow you to play online, while the Nintendo DS version will feature wireless gameplay. The game also includes six new mini games along with an arsenal of 600,000 games.

"Chess is played by millions of people worldwide and with the expansion of the Chessmaster series onto the Nintendo DS, players can take the game with them wherever they go," said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. "Chessmaster is an exciting and simple learning experience for novices and competitive players, the perfect recreational game to play on the Nintendo DS and PC."
