There weren't many concrete details but it is known that the game will be based on the original Viva Piñata concept. That is, the gathering of "animals" in your garden, rather than the upcoming party game that is currently being developed by the Australian developer Krome Studios. The game will supposedly sport a new top-down perspective and it is assumed that the DS touch-screen will be utilised in some form or another - given the game's nature.
We were actually impressed with the original Viva Piñata, though the mediocre sales of the game seemed to reflect that it wasn't primed for the Xbox 360 audience. Given the presence of games such as The Sims and Animal Crossing on the DS, we can only assume that the game will do a little better on the Nintendo system.
While Microsoft are unlikely to publish the game themselves on the DS, we wouldn't be surprised to see THQ, who published Rare titles such as Banjo-Pilot, It's Mr. Pants and Sabre Wulf on the GBA. We'll bring you more as it becomes available to us.
