Nervous Brickdown announced for DS

DS News | Yet another puzzle game on the way.
Secret Stash Games, a division under Eidos, have announced via a press release today that they will be publishing a new puzzle game for the Nintendo DS called Nervous Brickdown. The game is inspired by the old Breakout-style games, where players had the simple objective of breaking every last brick on their screen by ricocheting a ball with a paddle.

"Nervous Brickdown blends classic arcade brick-breaking with a retro cool feel for modern gamers,” Marketing Manager of Eidos Inc, David Bamberger, stated. “Innovative, addictive, and fun, with roots in old school gaming. Nervous Brickdown is one of the best choices for a Nintendo DS game for just about everyone."

Nervous Brickdown will apparently feature over 135 levels across 10 different themed worlds including paper, space and a haunted house. The game will also introduce several new elements to the arcade favourite, including boss battles, the ability to take control over space ships to blast away those pesky bricks, and even drawing your own paddle. The press release also mentions that the DS microphone will be used in some form or another along with the usual touchscreen controls.

Nervous Brickdown is expected to be released by the end of the year. In the meantime, you can view accompanying screenshots in the Media Panel.
