Pokémania back in force

DS News | Selling faster than a Quick Attack!
We've got some more Poké-news for you. To give an indication of what to expect here in Australia on June 21st, the latest DS Pokémon games have been mildly successful in the United States - and by mildly successful, we mean Most. Successful. Ever.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were released in the US five days ago, and in that very short time, a total of over one million units have been sold to the public. This makes Diamond and Pearl the fastest-selling versions of the Pokémon franchise in history. It seems Pokémon keeps surging back with a blinding force a short time after it slips into the shadows, to let a lesser "collection" craze take over for a few months. Pokémon really does seem to rule the portable roost, and given these latest figures it clearly won't be going anywhere but up. Diamond and Pearl have sold over 5 million units in Japan since September 2006, and the total sales for all Pokemon games in the series exceed 155 million units.

We don't know for sure whether they will or won't sell like crazy in Australia...but yeah, they will.

PALGN is stuck right in to Diamond and Pearl, so expect review coverage very shortly.

Quote-DS News: Selling faster than a Quick Attack!

Pokemanic entry #942

Regardless of the enemeis speed, a quick attack will always land the first strike, UNLESS the enemy uses quick attack as well, and has a higher speed stat then your pokemon.

Like omg phil get your facts straight, nothing is faster then a quick attack you newb like omg omg, if you were here i'd make my charizard eat your face off.

Pokemon still hasn't lost its steam.I hope lil billy is still willing enough to try out these pearl/diamond versions after being totally burned on the ranger series.

And yet you still can't throw a bunch of electric rats into the water and open a fish and chip shop. Is that so much to ask for!

Oh yes, you just make up for your pitiful lack of Pokemon knowledge by lashing out at your betters. That'll work.

Wat if you have the item that makes you Attack first no matter which move you use?(im pretty sure theres an item like that in one of the pokemon games).

Quick Claw. But, assuming both Pokemon are holding Quick Claws, Extremespeed will still be faster.

I'm feeling less and less proud of my Pokemon addiction by the minute.

If it wasn't for the animated series/movies et cetera, it wouldn't have been anywhere enar this successful.

^Yeah, I wouldn't have liked it as much, or even played it if Cheese TV hadn't had the animated series on at 7am every weekday before school. It sure is a very, very successful empire. Imagine how rich the creators of it are, I wish I had of thought of it lol. The shows and movies and memorabilia and stuff has increased its popularity greatly, but I still think the games are the most successful part, the shows just got the name and idea across.
