Nintendo reveals DS release dates

DS News | Phoenix Wright coming out 18 months after American release.
Nintendo is on a bit of a roll today. Firstly, the Japanese gaming giant confirmed the local release dates for Excite Truck and WarioWare: Smooth Moves. And now, it's revealed some local dates for a handful Nintendo DS titles.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will finally be released on March 8 next year. The game launched on the October 12, 2005 in America, so the fact we're getting this game and not its successor is a little bit surprising; most gamers had given up hope that we'd ever see the title in Australia.

Kirby Squeak Squad is set to land a week earlier, and will be available on March 1. Just a few weeks earlier we'll get Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Quarter 1 is already shaping up to be a busy time.

All we need to have now is Trauma Center to complete the "WHERE THE F*** DID THESE 3 GAMES GO?" Trio.

They're actually releasing Phoenix Wright here? That's quite a surprise. I think that just about everyone who would have wanted to play it before now would have imported it, I sure did. They've just taken way too long to release it here.

Wow, did they overprint PW1 for the US? I'd guess most people who would like it would have imported already, but it's a bonus for those without credit cards out there.

You don't need a credit card to get Phoenix Wright. icon_cool.gif

sif anyone who had an interest in these titles hasnt picked them up from DVDCrave yet.

This **** me to no end, with region free games sucj long time gaps
between releases KILL retailers ability to sell a decent volume of these
games. What happens then is the company then turns around and states
there is no use releasing the sequal as the first game sold poorly.

In a world that is becoming more dominated by the eshopping indusrty
there needs to be a shake up within the think tanks of these comany's.

I've had an interest yet didn't import, been busy / no money at that time. Am I in a minority?

I had no idea it wasn't out over there. icon_eek.gif I picked up the PAL one (one of few DS PAL games I have) and have had to import the second. Both games are so cheap at Play-Asia you'd be better off importing the NTSC-J versions (both have English language options).

To be fair, I'm pretty sure Nintendo only recently got the rights to distribute Capcom games in Aus. Prior to that it was THQ. So its not really Nintendo's fault that it's take this long to release the title.
