New Mizuguchi puzzler to get PAL release

DS News | First shots of Gunpey on DS and PSP revealed.
We reported earlier this week that Meteos and Lumines creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi and his team at Q entertainment were working on a new puzzle game for both the PSP and the Nintendo DS, apparently a project influenced by an obscure WonderSwan game. A western release was by no means guaranteed, but we've now received confirmation that the title will make its way to Australian and European shores. You shouldn't rule out a 2006 release either, as it's set to appear in North America in time for Christmas.

And perhaps even better still, we've got the first images - head here for a peek - and there's news that there'll be a two-player mode also. Hurrah.

Bah. Figures the DS version looks more cluttered and ugly. Should have had the grid span over 2 screens imho.

Gunpey was made by the Gameboy creator Yokoi Gunpei. It looks mad, what's going on with the blocks? Still it's Mizugutchi so should be good.
