- Model HX: Expels plasma cyclones, which can be powered up to span the width of the DS’s screen. Model HX also has the ability to hover, which eventuates into flying once levelled up.
- Model LX: Has the ability to freeze enemies with an ice attack and when powered, unleashes a dragon who flies around freezing enemies. LX has the added ability of being able to ‘dash’ in water, which allows it to overcome particular obstacles.
- Model FX: Emits a powerful flame attack and powers up to produce a wave of flames. Model FX is also capable of breaking ice blocks which reveal hidden locales.
- Model PX: Propels a boomerang and when powered, raises a protective shield. Model PX also has the ability to climb and access ledges and areas that other models cannot.
This part might be a little difficult to understand, and describes the aptly titled ‘Technical Finish System’. Every boss has a bit of ‘Live Metal’ somewhere hidden in their body, which is acquired upon defeating the boss. Depending on a few factors, the ‘Live Metal’ will be somewhere between Level 1 – the worst level, meaning it has been significantly damaged and will require repairs – and Level 4 – showing that the piece survived the battle unscathed is ready to use. (The HX Model is able to locate the ‘Live Metal’ so players can keep it in pristine condition).
