E3 2006: Custom Robo goes portable

DS News | Online play anyone?
Nintendo has announced that they're bringing their popular Custom Robo series to the DS. While the games have never really been given the chance to flourish outside of Japan, this latest version will be the first to incorporate online play.

The game is Nintendo's take on the mech battle genre. Players build their robots from a multitude of components and parts. Components are as distinct as left-arm and right-leg. Construction is half the fun but then the players are left to battle it out in the "holosseum". Battles are determined by skill and superior design.

Battles will now be able to take place across Multi-cart play or across the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The DS version is set for a release later this year and it is possible that it will be playable at the show. Please stay tuned to PALGN for more coverage of E3 2006.
