E3 2006: Chibi-Robo gets smaller

DS News | Coming to the small screen.
Nintendo has announced that it'll be developing and publishing a DS version of the GameCube title, Chibi-Robo. Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol will pick up where the GC version left off with the unusual job-related gameplay, and is set for a release later this year.

The previous Chibi-Robo had the miniature hero restoring happiness to a disgruntled household, but now it's been taken outdoors. Playground equipment in the park is mysteriously vanishing and the flowers in the park have been transformed by evil monsters. Of course, it's up to Chibi-Robo to get to the bottom of this and make the park a nice place to visit again.

Chibi-Robo is being given a whole set of new tasks and ways to carry them out. He rides buggies, cars and boats across lawns and ponds, fights mysterious enemies with his squirter, dances in the park to give life to the plants there and builds playground equipment to make the park a better place. There is no indication as to how the game will utilise the unique features of the DS.

It'd be nice if we got the original before we start hearing about a sequel.
