E3 2006: Tom and Jerry Return

DS News | The original Cat and Mouse duo return on handhelds
Warner Bros and Eidos have announced a game based on the classic cat and mouse duo Tom and Jerry is in development and will be out this year. According to the press release, Tom and Jerry Tales will contain large colourful environments that will be carefully designed to mimic the old school cell animated art style of the original cartoons. The player will take control of Jerry getting up to mischief, and each level will be set out as a fast paced chase back to his mouse hole, almost certainly with some tasty fromage. But with Tom always right on his tail and a bunch of booby traps set, Jerry will have to take advantage of a variety of mouse like tricks to escape.

Tom and Jerry Tales is scheduled for release in Q4 this year for Nintendo DS, and there will also be a version for Game Boy Advance. We'll report more on the game from it's showing at E3!
