Pre E3 2006: Crash crashes on to the Nintendo DS

DS News | He is the life of the party that Bandicoot.
Vivendi have announced today that Crash Bandicoot will be coming to the Nintendo DS in Crash Boom Bang!, which is scheduled for release in October, 2006.

The game will contain forty mini games and will utilise the touch screen panel. In the game, Crash and his friends embark on a worldwide race in a quest for its multi-million dollar prize. With hidden intentions of finding an ancient lost city and the famed magical “Super Big Power Stone” that grants its user one wish, the race’s sponsor Viscount Devil plans on using the contestants to solve the mystery. The map of the race checkpoints is based on the Viscount’s ancient map, and the evil Dr. Neo Cortex, has figured out the Viscount’s master plan and in his own relentless pursuit for world domination, sets out to steal the map and retrieve the legendary stone.

Not exactly original, eh? The game will allow players to use the wireless capabilities of the Nintendo DS to send customised messages in the middle of a game. The mini games will take advantage of the capabilities of the NDS, such as the microphone.

No images of the game have been released yet but we'll have more information on Crash Boom Bang! shortly.

Sounds like another attempt at mario party. I dont exactly remember their first party game being all that fun either? But it will be interesting to see what they can do with the functionality before a mario party comes.
