Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin screens

DS News | Looking good!
It seems we're getting new info on the twenty-fourth Castlevania game every day, and today's no different - we've gotten our hands on some screens and new details.

Demonstrating that the game is clearly based on a souped-up Dawn of Sorrow engine, the screens show main characters Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Orlean looking pretty swish in that 'old-school Konami pixel art' sort of way, and the impracticality of their poses imply that they'll be overflowing with frames of animation. Only one outdoor area is shown, but apparently there will be far more of these then in Dawn, and there'll also be heavy use of polygonal backgrounds to add depth to the field of vision. It's also been confirmed that Jonathan is the son of Castlevania: The New Generation's John Morris, and that the connection between the Belmont and Morris families will be revealed in this game.

Check out the screens yourself in the Media Panel.
