New New Super Mario Bros screens

DS News | Nintendo gives Super Mario junkies another fix.
Between the torturous delays in the US - as if waiting 14 years for a new entry into the series wasn’t bad enough – and rumours running rampant about the possibility of the DS Lite debuting alongside the New Super Mario Bros. game, Nintendo have managed to send out 15 new screenshots of the upcoming sidescroller.

Nintendo have been able to squeeze 80 levels, mini games and co-op gameplay onto the one DS cartridge for the latest instalment into the Super Mario series. Players find themselves on a journey to save Princess Peach again and for the first time, will traverse Mushroom Kingdom featuring 3D objects in a 2D environment.

For a more in-depth look, check out PALGN’s preview. New Super Mario Bros will be jumping into stores on June 8th in Australia and June 30th in Europe.

Heh, I never knew that there were mini games. One looks very similar to one found in Mario Bros. 64 DS.

I believe they are all from Super Mario 64 DS.

Rinse and repeat for me, although I'd prefer more information on the Lite than the game. icon_wink.gif

Looks OK, but I wonder why Nintendo went the 3D route as opposed to 2D. I think a nice smooth 2D Mario would of been better?

Regardless, let's hope it's awesome and is actaully of a decent lenght. That's my biggest concern right now about this game...
