'The philosophy behind the game has a lot in common with our own aims of ensuring that every dog is a happy and loved pet,' cooed Adrian Burder, Dogs Trust marketing director. 'It's great that there's a game that is not only fun to play, but supports the message that responsible dog ownership means more than giving your dog an occasional stroke.'
Admittedly, this may all have had something to do with a newly announced strategic partnership between Nintendo and Dogs Trust, one which will see joint marketing activities taking place between August and December, including on-pack branding and fundraising initiatives. Still, as it's all for a good cause and (as dogs are obviously vastly superior pets compared to the unfeeling, cold-hearted fleabags known as cats), we'll let that go for now.
In fact, it's actually nice to see games attracting praise for once as well, particularly with the recent hoo-hah over the Hot Coffee mod and other such unpleasantries still fresh in the mind. Group hug everyone!
