It's not a totally faithful port, however. For one, Deadly Silence will be utilising fully 3D environments (the PlayStation original used pre-rendered backdrops of course), much like the superlative Resident Evil 4 on GameCube. This also means that we'll be blessed with the chance to enter a first-person mode for fights, if the screenshots in our Media Panel are anything to go by.
There's also the odd tweak to make sure the game makes good use of the touchscreen technology on the DS. From what we can see, the best of these platform-exclusive additions is still the ability to use the stylus to slash at zombies as though it were a knife (which we already reported on a while back), but we'll also be able to enter codes on the touchscreen by tapping away with our styluses.
On the top screen meanwhile, we'll be able to look damn fine whilst slashing the jugulars of the undead, thanks to a slew of updated character models and animatons. And pleasingly, there'll be new traps and far more intelligent zombies this time around, with your foes able to follow you into empty rooms now. Urk.
Finally, the preview in Famitsu also talks of some kind of wireless support, though exactly what this will entail we don't yet know. As soon as we do, rest assured you'll hear back from us.
