Metroid Prime: Hunters delayed

DS News | The hunt's been called off. For now.
We learned today that one of the DS flagship titles, Metroid Prime: Hunters, will be delayed until next year. Originally scheduled for an October 2005 release, it's now been put back to an unknown date, some time in Q1 2006.

The Metroid Prime spin-off has been in development for quite some time, so the most plausible reason for the delay is that the developers require more time to implement usage of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection internet service. Given that this feature was originally not planned for the game, this would definitely be welcome for fans and impending buyer.

However, the online mode has yet to be confirmed. At least we'll have Mario Kart DS to keep us going until next year.

Sounds good, too good...., anyway the metroid prime series has been a great test of skill and yet still enjoyable. icon_biggrin.gif

...And is that picture off when you die in metroid prime on GC??

Nintendo have been making the transition of their 2d masterpieces/classics to 3d relatively unscathed.Zelda, metroid, mario-all success stories.

I reallllllyyyy thought metorid for gc would fall flat on its face-shows what i know.I must say that metroid hunters is one of the most enjoyable shooters ive played on a handheld, demo or otherwise. It almost makes using a d-pad to control a reticule archaic.

Delayed? But, I'm sure I saw an official Metroid Prime: Hunters box with a price tag of $69.95 at an EB Games store.

Those boxes are going to be sitting on those shelves for a while yet. This news came straight from the developers.

EB were trying to get me to pre-order it back around March. icon_biggrin.gif

Don't know if you've all seen this, but over at http://www.metroidhunters.com/ you can watch short video clips of all the Hunters; Weavel, Kanden, Trace, Spire, Sylux and Noxus. So far I think that Sylux is looking the best.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool video, and the music is pretty cool too. I always thought the music in the new metroid games sucked monkey-ass, but this is alright.

All those new 'hunters' make me wonder what the heck this game is going to be about... I'm just approaching it as 'the new metroid game'.
