New Pokémon titles on the way

DS News | Still haven't caught them all, apparently.
Japanese gaming mag Coro Coro has revealed that a number of new Pokémon titles will be making their way to the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance in the next year. They are:

Pokémon Ranger (DS), an Action-RPG due in 2006, before the release of Diamond/Pearl
Pokémon Puzzle (DS), due October 20th in Japan, which is a Zoo Keeper style puzzle game
Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon Blue (DS) and Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon Red (GBA), which are due in time for the holidays in Japan, and developed by renowned RPG house Chunsoft. And finally;
Pokémon Diamond (DS) and Pokémon Pearl (DS), which are the next installments in the main Pokémon series, and likely to cause mass absenteeism in Japan on their day of release.

We will have more information (and hopefully some images) on these new Pokémon titles in the coming months.

Was talking about this with Hyper earlier; Pokémon Ranger's gonna have to be exceptionally good for me to buy it on top of Pokémon Diamond. I'll have to see how "essential" it is to the experience of the next Pokémon generation... I also hope it'll not be priced the same as the Mario/Nanostray/Nintendogs-type games, more like Dash/Polarium/Driller...

As for the others, they sound like crappy minigames made to milk the series, but I suppose we'll have to see how they turn out... icon_kero.gif

I won't be buying Pokémon Puzzle. ポケモン不思議のダンジョン (Pokemon Fushigi No Danjon) will most likely get a "pass..." from me too...

Pokémon Ranger, which looks to be based on the recent movies in Japan and also the recent anime episodes, actually looks like it could turn out to be a decent main spin-off of the Pokémon series. I'll definitely be looking into it, especially since it can link up with Diamond/Pearl and it's also being released sooner.
Finally, of course, Pokémon Pearl will be an essential buy for me. icon_smile.gif
