E3 2005: Viewtiful Joe DS Revealed

DS News | First screenshots and details from Joe’s upcoming adventure.
During Capcom’s E3 press event today, the company unveiled their first title that they plan to bring to the Nintendo DS throughout PAL territories in early 2006. The Nintendo DS version, tentatively titled Viewtiful Joe DS will include a brand new storyline set in the Viewtiful Joe universe - which will also introduce Joe’s sister Jasmine - where gamers must save Captain Blue’s latest movie after a group literally steals the show.

Utilising the Nintendo DS hardware, Viewtiful Joe DS will breathe life to an all-new unique style of gameplay. The two screens will keep track of the action in two separate viewpoints, the touch panel will be used to solve puzzles, and the game will retain its cel-shaded environment the series is notorious for.

We've included the first in-game images in the media panel. PALGN will have more information on Viewtiful Joe DS soon.

looks really good, but the dual screen hasn't really been utilized effectively.. I mean it looks like the top screen is just a zoomed-in version of the bottom one.

^ I'm not sure, but I think that it changes for like fast motion, slow motion, etc etc. So you can see a close up of Joe doing his special power and then the whoe game. But, yeah, it doesn't seem to make a great deal of gameplay difference.
