Price drop for Nintendo DSi and XL incoming

DS News | Extra large and extra cheap.
If you're one of the two or three people in the world who doesn't own one of the Nintendo DS line of hardware units, and have no interest in buying a Nintendo 3DS, then Nintendo has prepared a special deal on older models just for you.

Announced via press release, Nintendo will be dropping the standard retail price for both the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo DSi XL. Each will recieve a price cut of AU$50, with the former set to retail at AU$199.95 and the latter at AU$249.95.

New Zealanders will also be receiving a price cut, with the DSi down to NZ$274.51 and the XL at NZ$343.99, each cut by over NZ$50.

Both the Australian and New Zealand price cuts will be effective from 30 June 2011.

Whoa New Zealand is getting majorly ripped off. Isn't their dollar pretty close to ours?

$343NZ = $265AU so not ripped off, a pretty decent price drop for both countries
