Pokémon Black/White is a record breaker

DS News | Who can catch this beast?
A press release from Nintendo has detailed the success of Pokémon Black and White, the latest entries into Japan's adored franchise, and now the biggest ever week one release for the company.

Not only did it beat the record previously held by the Wii's New Super Mario Bros, Pokémon Black and White smashed it into the ground. Having sold 77,000 units within seven days, the figure devours Mario's best effort of 47,400 in November 2009. Before Black and White, HeartGold and SoulSilver managed to ship 45,000 units between them, adding to the total of three million Pokémon games sold within Australia.
