E3 2009: Picross 3D revealed

DS News | More brain teasing fun for the DS.
Nintendo has revealed it will be publishing a follow-up to the Nintendo DS puzzler Picross DS.

Titled Picross 3D, the game makes the transition from 2D fields to three dimensional shapes. Gameplay is fairly similar to the original – players start with a block of cubes that have numbers at the end of each row. The numbers represent how many blocks in that row are part of the shape, so you have to decide which cubes should remain by marking them with a paintbrush, and which ones should be eliminated by smashing them with a hammer. There will be more than 350 puzzles in the final build, as well as the ability create, share and download new puzzles via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.

You can check out some screenshots and concept art in the media panel below.

I imported this a while back, the Japanese version is called Rittai Picross so it's nothing new.

Hopefully it has more/different puzzles in the english release.
