Square Enix reveal Kingdom Hearts DS release period

DS News | RPG fans rejoice.
Square Enix has announced ITS upcoming Nintendo DS title Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will be released across PAL territories in Q3 this year.

The game will follow the adventures of Roxas, the "other" hero from Kingdom Hearts II, and allows players to discover how he spent his days as a member of Organisation XIII. Supposedly, questions such as his connection with Sora, who the 14th member of Organisation XIII is and what his eventual reasons were for leaving the group will be answered throughout the story. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will also feature co-op and competitive multiplayer modes for up to 14 players.

You can check out some brand new screens in the media panel below.

Really keen for this, as I love Kingdom Hearts on PS2. One of my all time fav RPG series.

Personally I'm thinking this looks quite respectable for a DS title. Looking forward to it too.

Ah so now I can start anticipating a release date and start getting my money together.

Personally I can't wait for the game, although I know a lot of people have been turned off the game because it focuses on Roxas. I'd really like to get a bit more of a back story for when he was with the XIII and that sort or thing.

That and it means more Axel! Hooray for more Axel!

Roxas is probably my favourite character in the game, so I'm actually glad of the fact that it focuses on him.

Kingdom Hearts is fantastic! It's been responsible for me spending a small fortune on Disney DVDs, reliving the classics that you can't help but want to watch again after seeing some character, no matter how obscure, in the game. It's high up on my list of favourite games, that's for certain.

To know that another installment is soon upon us makes me excited.

That's great news, didn't think it would get over here until next year. Haven't really used my DS much lately apart from GTA so it's nice to see a new RPG come out for it.

I really don't get what people see in Kingdom Hearts. I bought the first one thinking it would be a sure bet, and after a couple of hours of extremely tedious "search for the tiny thing" and "trigger the event" questing turned it off for good.

I've been really impatiently awaiting a good RPG for the DS, and I'm a little disappointed this is what Squeenix are putting out, to be honest.

Well it sounds like you didn't get far enough in Kingdom Hearts.

And if you are looking for a good RPG on DS, there is plenty, and a lot of them are good (and better than good).

@Wedley: Go out and buy Chronotrigger... now. You will not find a better RPG, not now, not ever.
