New Lego Battles details emerge

DS News | All the fun of LEGO without having to clean up after you finish playing.
Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment has just released fresh details for the upcoming DS game, LEGO Battles! that is sure to keep kids of all ages indoors during the cold winter months.

LEGO Battles will bring together three classic LEGO toy themes – Space, Castle and Pirates – allowing players to build their own base and customise their own LEGO set as they mix and match units to create their own customised squad. Developed by Hellbent Games and produced by TT Games, the title has been described as "combining the trademark humour and endless customisation of LEGO" - something that is sure to please the legion of LEGO fans that eagerly ate up previous iterations of LEGO videogames.

The game will feature six distinct storylines and ninety different levels, which will see players face off on land, sea and air using a variety of units at their disposal - the game comes packed with a total of fifty-five characters and thirty different vehicles.

Players will also be able to play against their friends in multiplayer mode via wireless DS multi-card play, allowing gamers to put their ultimate squads to the test.

LEGO Battles! is scheduled to arrive in Australia in the winter of 2009. Don't forget to check out our media panel for the latest images of the title.

I'll be fair, it's probably early days in development, but I swear this game would look more at home on a DOS platform...

that does look very old fashioned... is this going to be a lego themed starcraft type game? if not, that could be a cool franchise
