The Urbz Confirmed For The DS

DS News | Electronic Arts has confirmed that The Urbz: Sims in the City will be released for the Nintendo DS. First screens revealed.
Electronic Arts has today announced that The Urbz: Sims in the City is in development for the Nintendo DS. Currently in development by EA, and in conjunction with Griptonite Games, the NDS version of the game will allow gamers access to a number of unique features not found in it’s PC or console counterparts.

"We're thrilled that this new franchise is the first from Electronic Arts to illustrate the power of the Nintendo DS," said Sinjin Bain, vice president and executive producer. "On the Nintendo DS, we are able to do things with The Urbz: Sims in the City that we could not do with any other console. Like the system itself, this game is completely unique. Never before have Sims players been able to unleash their alter egos in an urban environment--complete with the sounds, scenes, and settings of the city."

Exclusive features for the Nintendo DS version of The Urbz: Sims in the City include:
    * 24 objects
    * 5 mini-games
    * 7 characters
    * 8 pet species created in game with the "gene manipulator"
    * A unique touch-screen menu system
    * Wireless multiplayer

The Urbz takes the life of the typical suburban Sim and drops them in the city where they now experience a new look, attitude and outlook on life itself as it's all about building, and improving, their reputation. For the first time, players will not only be able to create their own Sim, but in addition will also have the opportunity to create their own pet.

The release of The Urbz: Sims in the City for the Nintendo DS is set for a November 2004 release in the U.S, currently no PAL release has been announced.

PALGN will bring you more information on the Nintendo DS version of The Urbz: Sims in the City as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, check out the first screenshots of the game in action.

is the nintendo DS signal like a mobile PHONE?

No, the wireless technology is different from mobile phones. It is compatible with WiFi networks, which would open up possibilites of remote multiplayer gaming.
