That Tyrano was a tough boss. I remember it having a ton of HP and it took forever to beat.

The happiest moment in all my gaming life when I first heard of this landmark game coming to DS! Can't wait to kick old Lavos' ass yet another time and save the future =D

Wow Awsome, it looks exactly the same.

Yeah sorry I'm not paying to own the exact same game again.

I love that all these great snes RPGs are being re-made or re-released, they were some of the best RPGs ever!

yep, just another way square or nintendo can squeeze more money out of us....throw in a few cutscences and BAM $60 price tag!!

To be honest, I'm glad it looks the same. I hate the cute-ifying that Square did with FF 3 and 4. I'll buy it, my memory aint what it used to be so even though i finished this, i won't remember it.

$12.50 on Ebay
Link
or $44 bucks on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/SQUARE-Chrono-Trigger/dp/B000035Y6N

I'm not saying they needed to do a total overhaul like FF3 and 4, just upgrading the sprites like the PSP Final Fantasys would be nice.

Edit: shortened that link, it was stretching the page.

... more than 4 days to go, and cart only... compared to 30min to go....

Linky

(edit: Sold for $85US)

that being said I probably wont get the DS version until it comes down to an acceptable DS price range (for me $30 max)

yyyyaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr i already have, no other way to get a hold of it so from no other option i downloaded an emulator and the rom....dont hate me but what else was a man to do icon_confused.gif i know its not an original but its the whole game..

Guess you can delete that ROM file now and get it on the DS. icon_wink.gif

The thing that bugs me the most is that Square had a cease and desist sent to the Chrono Resurection project (Can be found here) For a port.

I mean that looked absolutly gorgeous but we're never gunna get it now cause Square coughed out a port.

I might get this once it go to the bargain bin as I've already finished the SNES version

that being said I hope with all these SNES remakes that Lufia 2 will be redone for the DS

Those shots look absolutely great. I would have loved to see full blown remake of Chrono Trigger instead of a simple port. While Chrono Trigger is indeed a great game, I hate how Square-Enix has simply been porting a lot of their old games. Its both good and bad though. People who never got to play a legit copy of the game will soon have a chance and those who already played it are getting the short end of the stick.

There was this guy selling Chrono Trigger on SNES still in its plastic for over $300 on auction, and a few people bid for it also. The DS one looks awesome, there are cut scenes and voice acting in it.

Y'know, I'm torn. I love Chrono Trigger and would probably bitch and moan if they gave it the 3D remake treatment with cutesy big head characters and stuff. But right now I'm playing Final Fantasy IV DS, and really dig it as a remake compared to the original SNES release which I never finished.

Personally I just think Square Enix missed the boat to simply re-release the game as-is without copping any flak for it - the GBA. Perfect platform for SNES ports. I can't help wondering if a 3D remake of CT would attract a new and larger fanbase compared to what a re-release of the SNES version would do.. *sigh*

I'll be buying it anyway, since I never owned a SNES or copy of the game.

Although to be fair this is different to other ports in that it's the first time the game has been released in Australia. I'll definitely spend $50 to get this masterpiece again (I have a mint condition JAP copy).

Uh, Chrono Trigger has been released in English before? Once on the Snes and once on the PS1.

What are you talking about?

Ah so instead of paying full price for an old Snes game, we're paying full price for an old Snes game that took 13 years to get an Australian release?

Thats... kind of worse.

Aww, when you put it like that, it makes me feel like we're being ripped off even worse.

I loved the screenies for that Chrono Resurrection project. It would have been lovely if Square had a) bought out the project and used it themselves, or b) taken the developers on staff for this project and let them finish it. No doubt they were hoping for one of those two scenarios, but instead Square sent out a cease and desist. Lame.

I'll still be buying this as part of my boyfriend's xmas present. He loves the games and was so excited to hear this was being released for DS. He'll just have to play this (and the rereleases of the FF games!) on my pink DS. So everyone is entertained!!

Sorry for bumping, but apparently the Japanese version comes with an English option. It will boot up CT with the language setting of your DS.

Just in case any of you (like me) want your hands on it early.
