Chrono Trigger DS definitely happening

DS News | Rumour proves to be true.
Yesterday we reported that there was a rumour making its way around the internet that Chrono Trigger was going to be revived, based on some Famitsu scans and a rather vague countdown clock on the Square Enix site. It's a rumour no longer - Square Enix has today confirmed that the SNES classic will be making its way onto the Nintendo DS.

It won't just be a straight port, either. The game will attempt to take advantage of the handheld's dual displays and touchscreen, along with an extra dungeon to explore.

However, the US release date is currently pencilled in for the holidays later this year, with no mention of a PAL release as of yet.

Expect the mysterious timer site to become a whole lot more informative during E3, when the countdown expires and Chrono Trigger DS is presumably officially revealed.

hope it's not going to have big headed characters - Ala final fantasy 3 and 4. I might just stick with the original.

It's a direct port of the original, with a little extra content in the form of a few new dungeons and more than likely touch screen extras.
