PictoImage allows up to eight players to take turns at drawing a picture of a randomly generated word while other players take turns at trying to guess the word first. For those of us that aren't adept at drawing anything other than a stick figure, the game's tutorial mode will teach players the basic mechanics of drawing a variety of different pictures across four main categories - 'animals, objects, food, and other.'
The game will feature eight different multiplayer modes where players can compete against each other, including Picture Pass, which the press release describes as being "a mode where a subject will be passed from player to player in an image and the last player has guess the subject based on all the drawings." Players will also be able to create a personal library of words to use when they square off against their opposition in multiplayer mode.
As well as the fun party atmosphere of the game's multiplayer elements, PictoImage will also include a single-player and two-player mode where players will be given the opportunity to guess an image from a built-in library of over three hundred drawings.
Sharpen up your stylus', PictoImage is scheduled to head onto the Nintendo DS this August.
