Assassin's Creed DS screens

DS News | Time to wear your hooded cloak again.
Ubisoft have released new screenshots for their upcoming exclusive Nintendo DS game, Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles, all of which can be viewed in the media panel below.

Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles is a prequel to last year’s Assassin’s Creed, which was released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. In the game, players explore full 3D environments and will learn more details about Altaïr's history. At this stage, not too much else is known about the game, but apparently players will battle their way through the four cities of Crusade’s Middle East, using several combo moves which utilise swords and acrobatic movements.

“The success of Assassin’s Creed worldwide has been incredible and we’re excited to delve deeper into the story and bring it to the Nintendo DS,” John Parkes, Ubisoft's EMEA Marketing stated. “Assassin’s Creed Altaïr’s Chronicles will be a title that resonates with those who played the console version as well as those who have yet to discover the secrets of Assassin’s Creed.”

Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles is expected to be released within the next few months. We'll report back once new details become available.

The screens look awesome, it reminds me a lot of Spiderman 3(DS) which has a similiar perspective and touch screen combat.

Looks better than I expected. I can already hear the speech from the first screen in my head, "Please Sir, just a few coins!"

It's a prequel.

I'd assume they'd be a little more different.

I hope.

I hope they let us free run with the stylus.

None of those screenshots seem to have a suitable lower screen for that control type. icon_confused.gif

I'm doubtful the game will be very good at all, might just give it a rent to find out if anything interesting story wise will be revealed.

Even then you could just find a detailed plot on Wikipedia.
