Nintendo 3DS ambassador GBA games available now

3DS News | Free stuff!
Originally intended for a release sometime tomorrow, today Nintendo has updated the Nintendo 3DS eShop with the ten GameBoy Advance games aimed at rewarding early system adopters known as 'Ambassadors'. Just as with the ten Nintendo Entertainment System titles released a few months ago, these games are among the very best available on the GameBoy Advance, and are now playable on your Nintendo 3DS.

The full list of GameBoy Advance titles is composed of;
  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
  • Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island
  • Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
  • Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
  • Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong
  • Metroid Fusion
  • Wario Land 4
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames

To download these titles, boot up the Nintendo 3DS eShop, head to system settings, and view the list of downloaded titles. These games will have been added to the list, and simply selecting 'Redownload' will add them to your system.

I thought that the NES selection was a bit pants, to be honest. Much happier with the titles on offer here, though!

I forget though, can you only download a certain number of titles from that list?

So if you aren't a part of he early ambassador program, can you pay for these games on the 3ds store?

Nintendo said they have no plans to release these GBA games to the public, so i'd say you're outta luck if you want them.

Nintendo says a lot of things, though.

As if they won't find their way onto the store at some point.

Nintendo had 'no plans' to release Xenoblade Chronicles in America for quite a few months.

Then they made plans.

They chose a good selection of games, I've been wanting to play Minish Cap lately!

I can't get them yet though, I have a US 3DS and they aren't out on the US eShop yet. It's just my luck that as soon as I get an American console, Nintendo suddenly decide to start releasing everything in Australia first icon_sad.gif

As for the games being exclusive to ambassadors; that won't be the case for long. When GameBoy Advance games start getting released on the eShop, there is no way Nintendo are going to leave out ten of the best, most popular games of the system.

Was hoping Mario Tennis would be one of them. Used to love it for some reason, it doesn't make sense to me either.

You could level your dude on the GBA, then plug your cartridge into the N64 and import it into Mario Tennis 64. Pretty badass.

Well, not everything. Devil Survivor won't be getting a PAL release any time soon. icon_razz.gif My U.S 3DS was almost worth buying just for that.

They're on the US store now btw! Downloading now, the new queue-everything-to-download-later is so convenient.

Edit: I take that back, it just ended up staying at 0% downloaded for everything forever. At least when I went through and downloaded one by one it didn't kick me out to the main screen every time like for the NES games.

Ah hell yeah, downloading when I get home tonight. Was looking at buying Minish cap as well.
