Red 3DS to be released

3DS News | Maybe we should have waited.

Remember when retailers first started taking those Nintendo 3DS preorders and there was always a picture of a sexy red one? And then all of a sudden the red consoles dropped off the face of the planet (well, Australia anyway)?

Nintendo are working to rekindle a flame in our hearts by announcing that they will be releasing a Flame Red version of their 3DS console, alongside the previously released Aqua Blue and Cosmos Black colours.

This colour will be launched on the 22nd of September and at the new price of $249.95. Perhaps this marks a whole slew of new colours to come? We know we'd love to see the orange and purple ones that were originally shown off when the 3DS was announced. What do you think?

Adding a red version is great, but I'm still waiting till next year to see if there's going to be a hardware revision.

Red hey? Wonder if they'll release a Mario game alongside it. In any case, I won't be buying one until I hear that Layton vs Ace Attourney will be released here in Australia. Seriously, get some damn games on the thing, Nintendo!

As a side note, I'm more interested in an upcoming DS game (Layton 4) than anything currently announced or out for 3DS (in Australia, obviously). Clearly, Nintendo has problems here.

I think you're over estimating how long games take to come out.

By this time in the DS's life we had Kirby Canvas Curse, Advanced Wars, Meteos, and Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows.

A bunch of great original games that not only take advantage but require the new technology to work in any shape or form (Aside from Castlevania wich... fuck the touch screen)

At this point in the 3DS we have... an update of a 13 year old game?
