Nintendo 3DS ambassador NES titles revealed

3DS News | One for each finger.
Folk might remember not too long ago Nintendo decided to slash the price of the Nintendo 3DS, leaving some consumers who paid the premium price at launch feeling a little burnt. To counter the disappointment, Nintendo announced the 3DS ambassador program, which would reward early adopters with ten free Nintendo Entertainment System titles, and ten free GameBoy Advance titles.

After previously giving only a taste of what this bonus line-up would include, Nintendo of Japan has finally revealed what ten free Nintendo Entertainment System games 3DS owners can look forward to playing. The list includes:

  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Balloon Fight
  • Ice Climber
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Wrecking Crew
  • NES Open Tournament Golf
  • Yoshi
  • Metroid
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

There is a possibility the above list will only apply to Japan, but the English speaking world will likely be looking at a similar if not identical list of games when the ambassador program goes live.

All that remains are the ten free GameBoy Advance games to be confirmed.

Not a bad list. Pretty happy with Zelda I&II, SMB and Metriod.

Twenty new games are going to be absolutely horrible to browse on the 3DS menu. Hopefully they add folders or something to make it easier.

Change the menu viewing style, makes it heaps better.

Folders would great. Would love to organise NES, GB and GBA games into separate folders.

As much as I love seeing Metroid there, it does dash my hopes that Zero Mission for GBA is a long way off, as I'd much rather play that.

Great list though.

Virtual Console needs it's own menu, just like the AR games have their own menu.

Not bad at all, especially with the two Zelda titles there. I'd have probably bought a few of those anyway.
