Nintendo 3DS eShop details for Australia

3DS News | Pokemon, bikes and plumbers.
The previously dated Nintendo 3DS eShop is right around the corner. Today, Nintendo Australia has sent out a press release confirming the update to go live for both Australia and New Zealand on 7 June 2011, as well as the content available on launch.

Included in the update are two services; an internet browser and the eShop. The former will allow users to browse the web on the 3DS, while the latter gives access to a variety of software and applications to be purchased and played. Separated into several categories, gamers can look forward to classic GameBoy titles, 3DS specific titles, and classic titles enhanced with 3D visuals and features.

The previously announced Pokédex 3D will be available at launch, along with a host of classic GameBoy titles to purchase, including Super Mario Land, Alleyway and Tennis.

To celebrate the update, Nintendo will be offering a 3D classic version of Excitebike for free to all users to access the store before 7 July 2011.

As said, the Nintendo 3DS eShop will be available to update on 7 June 2011, with plans to update the eShop content and services every Thursday after.

Think that was the major hold up with not releasing it at launch.

Well the Gameboy stuff are reasonably priced.

Super Mario is $6.00, Tennis is $4.50 and Alleyway is $4.50, that's pretty much it for now.

It's actually up on the US store funnily enough. I found it under the "Staff Pick of the Week" section, maybe check there?
