Announced over at Nintendo World Report, Nintendo has revealed Pokédex 3D for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. With a library of over 150 Pokémon, Pokédex 3D will allow fans to look up their favourites in 3D, checking out their moves and details. Integrating somewhat of a 'game' into the experience, the application will initially only show sixteen Pokémon. Players will be able to expand their library by using the Nintendo 3DS SpotPass feature to collect random Pokémon from nearby 3DS owners, trade with friends, and unlock Pokémon by scanning QR codes.
Not only will each Pokémon be viewable in 3D, but Pokédex 3D will make use of augmented reality, rendering selected Pokémon in conjunction with the 3DS camera, giving fans the chance to take photos with their favourites.
Though it is currently without a launch date, the 3DS eShop goes live next week, so hopefully we'll hear more then. As for the price? If the report is correct, Pokédex 3D will be absolutely free.
