Beyond the Labyrinth announced

3DS News | Dare you go in?

The first in what is likely to be a number of new 3DS game announcements leading up to E3 2011 has hit. Today, via Andriasang and Famitsu, Konami and tri-Ace (Resonance of Fate, Valkyrie Profile) reveal Beyond the Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS.

Directed by Takayuki Suguro, who was also behind Resonance of Fate and Valkyrie Profile 2, Beyond the Labyrinth will play like a 3D 'dungeon RPG', with the story centered around the character who appearing in the screenshots. Sadly, this is all we know, though Konami and tri-Ace are promising to make this a major title for the 3DS.

When I saw the title I wondered if it was a continuation of the David Bowie film from the 80's. Anyone remember that??

Will keep an eye on this. I don't tend to get too excited about tri-Ace games as they sometimes have interesting gameplay mechanics in their RPGs, but the storytelling is often terrible.
